Margit Koivisto is a Toronto based photographer with a northern soul. She makes photographs in places that move her, often returning many times to the same location to explore that connection. She is increasingly drawn to the shores of Lake Superior, where she spent her childhood. Her images explore the current realities of living on the Lake’s rugged shores. The project, tentatively entitled “Circle Tour, is ongoing.
She is a member of the Riverdale Artists’ Network, Gallery 44 for Contemporary Photography and f8 Photography Collective with whom she exhibits regularly. Her work has been juried into the distinguished fundraisers of the Robert McGlaughlin Gallery RMG Exposed Auction and the AIDS Committee of Toronto SNAP! Photography Auction.
